4 Types of Stains

Petroleum Stains-  Gum, Grease, Tar, Ink, Adhesive, Glue, etc.

Biological Stains-  Vomit, Blood, Feces, etc.

Synthetic Stains-  Kool-Aid, Fruit Punch, Colored Candy, Cough Syrup, etc.

Organic Stains-  Wood furniture, mustard, coffee, mold, tea, urine, etc.

Procedures to Remove Stains

Petroleum Stains-  Apply Pro-Solve and agitate to dissolve deposit, apply power gel and agitate gently to emulsify and suspend deposit, use hot water extraction to rinse thoroughly.

Biological Stains-  Apply Pro-Zyme solution, agitate gently and allow a few minutes dwell time, rinse thoroughly using tepid water extraction, (if wicking is a concern) apply stain blotter to cover wet area, vacuum thoroughly after area is completely dry.

Synthetic Stains-  Prepare a mixture of equal parts Red Relief solutions A & B, Wet Stained fibers with this Red Relief solution, cover stain with a damp terry towel from which you have squeezed the excess water, apply steam heat from an iron (or steamer) set to the lowest steam setting, check stain every 30 seconds and discontinue heat when stain has disappeared or changed to a light yellow color, hot water extraction rinse to remove chemical residue.

Organic Stains– Prepare a mixture of equal parts Stain Magic solution A & B, apply Stain Magic solution liberally to stained fibers, allow to dwell until stain disappears, this may be up to 8 hours for reaction to reach completion, for furniture stain, cover the area with plastic after applying Stain Magic and remove 8 hours later.

Use caution when working with natural fibers as color loss may occur.  Always test the procedure to be performed in an inconspicuous are before proceeding.

Quick Spot Cleaning Tips

· Avoid over wetting the carpet. This may cause damage to the backing of carpet.

· BLOT, DO NOT RUB!

· Work from the edges of the spill to the center to prevent spreading of the spill.

· Use clean, white, absorbent towels.

· Apply cleaners to towel—do not pour spotters/cleaner onto carpet or upholstery. Some cleaner may dissolve fabric adhesives or backing.

· To avoid water rings on upholstery or carpet clean entire area.

· Extract and rinse thorough after spot cleaning.

· Dry as quickly as possible. Use fans and increase air circulation.
